Lewis Albert Lail, Sr., 75, of St. Stephen, SC, a retired quality control inspector at the Charleston Naval Weapons Station and owner and operator of Lail’s Small Engine Repair, died Tuesday morning at his residence.
His funeral will be 7:00 PM Thursday evening, Dec. 10, 2009, in the ST. STEPHEN CHAPEL OF DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6:00 PM until the hour of service on Thursday. Mr. Lail was born Nov. 11, 1934, in St. Stephen, SC, a son of Burley Edward Lail and Annie Mae Boyer Lail. He attended the Harristown Road Baptist Church, was an avid fisherman, and loved working on lawn mowers.
Surviving are, his wife, Gloria Merritt Lail; four daughters, Sharon K. Grady of Macedonia, Lois Wilson and Misty Floyd both of St. Stephen, and Monica Lee of Moncks Corner; four sons, Lewis A. Lail, Jr., of Walterboro, Bruce T. Lail and Jimmy W. Lail of St. Stephen, and Timmy E. Lail of Goose Creek; a sister, Viola McKay of Santee Circle; twenty-one grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
